Shadow Expert Reports and Valuation Critiques

The role of the shadow expert valuer is typically to review the report of another expert valuer. As part of this, shadow expert valuers may write their own report which provides their own opinion of value with respect to the asset under question.

Often however, the shadow expert, in addition to providing their own valuation opinion for the particular asset, will critique the report prepared by the other expert valuer and in doing so will attempt to provide clarity to Courts and the parties regarding components and approaches adopted by the other expert valuer that in the opinion of the shadow expert are incorrect or which the shadow expert disagrees with.

We have significant expertise in preparing shadow expert reports and valuation critiques and have appeared in Courts to provide evidence when acting in this capacity.

We pride ourselves on preparing shadow expert reports and critiques that are reliable, useful, and easy to understand for both Courts and other users. Further, we can often produce shadow expert reports and valuation critiques with short notice.
